Princess Pink Wedding

Pink Cinderella Wedding
This past Saturday we had the pleasure of celebrating the wedding of T&L.  This couple could not have been any sweeter and I am so happy to have been able to participate in their special day!  You can learn a lot about a couple based on the type of wedding they have, and it was so clear to me just how T feels about L.  True love.  He let her have everything she wanted and I know that will continue on throughout their lives together.

My favorite part of this wedding was in the beginning after the introductions and the first dance.  L had prepared a touching speach to thank their grandparents for being such amazing role models in how to have a happy, loving, successful marriage.  (I cried!)  Their Christian values have clearly been passed on to their grandchildren and it is always amazing for me to witness things like this.  They followed the beautiful speach by inviting their grandparents onto the dance floor for a special dance.  This is the song they used for that...I dare you not to shed a tear thinking about your parents or sweet grandparents dancing to this!

As for the rest of the night: dinner, dancing and a delicious cake created the perfect Happily Ever After for this fairy tale evening.  This coming weekend we have a break, but don't worry, I'll be posting some random things in between :)

This beautiful cake was made by Paula's Place for Cakes in Greenwood
and it was delicious!

A sweetheart table was the perfect touch!

Quinceanero - A 15th Birthday Spectacular!

Fancy decor made took this event from fun to fab!
On Saturday night we celebrated the 15th birthday of V, a sweet young girl who's family is originally from Peru.  The tradition the the Quinceanero is similar to that of the "Sweet Sixteen" and then some.  They had the room decorated to the 9's in an Under the Sea theme.  Aqua and sea shells everywhere!  The stage featured an elaborate seating area for the birthday girl and her "court", a group of friends, girls and boys, dressed in coordinating formal attire like that of a wedding.  They had multiple choreographed dance routines and a shoe ceremony where the birthday girls father changed her shoes from her "little girl shoes" (Ugg moccasins) to a pair of "grown up shoes", silver strappy heals.

Fantastic cake by CCC's own BL!
Catchers Catering provided a traditional meal per the families request of Beef, Chicken and Veggie Enchiladas (which were delicious!) along with many other tasty choices.  Our very own BL created the cake which was not only beautiful but also extremely sweet tooth satisfying!!

This party was start to finish a creative and fun time.  They had a punch fountain that color coordinated with the entire theme of the event, Blue Hawaiian Punch and Sprite!  It smelled good, looked good and tasted great.

Me, Megan & Roni having a fun time at work!

Overall this was a fun and different event and I am so happy to have been a part of it.  I was able to bring 2 of my girlfriends who were visiting for the weekend and show them what my job is like and that is always fun.  Here's one last picture for the post, me with the girls here at the CCC celebrating V's quinceanero!

This weekend we will be back on the wedding front!  Stay tuned because it's going to be a big one!

Surprise 50th Birthday Party

We kicked off July 4th weekend with a Surprise 50th Birthday Party!!

Peacock Feathers and Candles adorn all of the tables to create a fabulous and
intimate feel for this Diva-licious party!

On Friday night we had a 50th birthday party - Fifty & Fabulous!  The guest of honor was shocked and her daughter was thrilled!  She has worked so hard to make the night totally amazing and it was.  Peacock feathers, high heels and plenty of bling!  Even a life-sized cardboard cutout of the birthday girl!

Custom printed M&M's with the words "Fifty & Fabulous" and
the guest of honors photo made delicious gifts for guests

This group was as kind and generous as could be and I was so happy to be a part of their excitement.  The guest of honor's daughter and son surprised her with the gift of a brand new car and she was beyond shocked and more thankful than I have ever seen.  It was truly a touching moment and it brought tears to my eyes.

Stay tuned because this wasn't our only event this past weekend.  Spoiler Alert:  Quinceanero!!

K&C's Lavender Hill Wedding

This past Saturday we had the honor of celebrating with K&C, a super sweet, down to earth couple who are obviously very much in love!  I love weddings, as I'm sure you already know, but this couple had me choked up a few times.  Before they were introduced into the reception the groom leaned down to give his new bride the sweetest kiss followed by the biggest grin!  (too sweet!!!)  The families, friends and bridal party really made the night amazing.  Everyone was up off their seats dancing the night away to the musical stylings of DJ Sky Brady (one of my personal favs!).

Before arriving for their reception, K&C said "I DO" at Lavender Hill in Milford.  The bride wore a beautiful strapless, a-line Grecian style gown with a pretty purple flower in here hair.  Bridesmaids wore knee-length purple gowns of a similar style to the bride.  Everyone looked beautiful and the look worked perfectly into the theme of the day.  They scored a perfect 10 in my books!

Here are some pictures of the room set-up.  Enjoy!

The gifts for guests were custom made glasses with the
bride and grooms names, wedding date and a sweet "Thank You"

Classic International Car Show

On Saturday, June 18th CHEER hosted our first Classic International Car Show at the Community Center.  The weather was gorgeous, the cars were amazing and the brunch was delicious.  Overall, this was the perfect day to look at cars while supporting a great cause.  All of the proceeds from this event are designated to help our Nutrition Department with their Meals on Wheels Program.  Last year CHEER served over 200,000 meals to seniors in need in Sussex County.  This year our goal is to exceed that number, and we hope to make that dream a reality with the funds raised from the Car Show.

www.WeddingSensations.i-do

A few days ago I was on my Twitter account and WeddingChannel had this adorable time-lapse Marriage Proposal posted.  I clicked the link and immediately fell in love with how creative this idea was.  Well, you know what happens on YouTube.  You see one cute thing then you look at the "recommendations" list and see something else, then something else and so on.  Before you know it you are spiralling down the rabbit hole and you cannot get out!  But it's all just so sentimental and emotional you don't want to stop watching all of the cute, funny and (at times) mean proposals out there.  One thing leads to the next and I'm watching those videos parents take of their kids when they surprise them with trips to Disney World.  I had to stop.  I'm working for crying out loud!!!

So, some questions I have...
1. Would I want my proposal posted for the world to see? (No, thanks, not the type! But to those out there who are the type, keep posting!  I LOVE WATCHING!)
2. Would I have wanted my proposal to be public so that strangers could immediately have shared in my joy? (no way, it was perfect just the 2 of us!)
3. What kinds of creative, corny, adorable proposals have other people experienced? (please share!!)
4.  Are you one of those people with a proposal video on YouTube? (if so, please post the link so everyone who checks out this blog and oohh & ahh over how adorable you are!)

YouTube is definitely the "it thing" right now and rightfully so.  It allows people to post videos of a very wide variety and it links an exorbitant amount of networks together.  Businesses post commercials for their companies, parents post cute videos of their kids to share with loved ones who live far away, people post videos of weddings and engagements, etc.

Remember this video of the dancing bridal party?  This became an instant internet sensation and now has had well over 67 million views!  It has been duplicated, reinterpreted, and broadcast on news outlets as well as being a viral hit online.  Just as popular are the "surprise" first dances.  (Those are addicting to watch, too.)

Proposals & Weddings are no longer revolving around stricktly sticking to tradition.  You can really be yourselves and let the day be all about you.  Proposals, which prompted this post, are unique and no longer the romantic dinner and down on one knee.  Creativity is key.  Having a video camera on hand might just take you from cool proposal/wedding entrance/first dance to being known around the world.  Will you be next?
